VOICE
SUPPORT FOR A SUSTAINABLE ALTERNATIVE

Let the Richmond City Council know that you prefer a sustainable alternative to a casino, one that       will bring  jobs, social and economic benefit to Richmond and the Bay Area, and something the             city can be proud of.  The City must consider alternatives to the casino, and will be voting on                   whether or to accept or reject a tribal casino as an acceptable project on April 5, 2011

What would you prefer for Pt Molate?
Leave as is - open space - no development or rehabilitation
Regional park with trails and recreation
Park with rehabilitated historic district to include arts collectives, restaurants, and specialty markets
Alternative energy research centers with trails and park area
Park with Richmond Community Village, training and conference centers, youth recreation and apprenticeship collectives

As a grass roots organization, our work and efforts are performed by all volunteers.  If you are interested in saving one of the last great headlands in the Bay Area, or in sustainable urbanside, we welcome your assistance.  There is always something to do!  So if you'd like to work with us let us know!  Whether its communications and media, design, organization, research and analysis, legal, planning, environmental, or modeling, your skills are welcome!.  Contact us at info@cfspm.org if you'd like to get involved.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT VOTES IN SEVEN YEARS

On April 5th, 2011 the Richmond City Council will vote to accept or reject a tribal casino as an              acceptable development project for Point Molate.   In November of 2004, the City entered into a          Land Disposition Agreement (LDA) with Upstream LLC granting them an exclusive right to                      negotiate for the sale of Point Molate.  The LDA has been amended/extended six times and                  currently is set to expire on April 20, 2011.  Having completed the certification of the Final EIR on        March 8, 2011, the City will vote on April 5th, 2011 whether to finally approve the casino                      development project.  Please come to the Richmond City Council meeting at 6:30PM on April 5th        and urge the countil to vote NO on approving the project.
